RC and Moon Pie Festival
This festival is held the third Saturday in June. A four-foot diameter, 14-inch-thick Moon Pie layered with marshmallow, graham cracker cookie and chocolate, is served to hundreds of attendees. Other festival activities include a watermelon seed-spitting contest, a 10-mile run, Moon Pie Hoops and the RC Dash.

The Moon Pie Hoops contest requires participants to drink and RC Cola and eat a Moon Pie while hula-hooping. Participants in the RC Dash have to place an open can of RC Cola on the palm of their hand and run from one point to another. A Moon Pie Discus Throw is to see who can throw a Moon Pie the furthest. The Moon Pie festival includes a craft show, bluegrass and country music, cloggers, and crowning of the RC and Moon Pie King and Queen. Over twenty food booths offer Southern-style barbecue to fresh-squeezed lemonade and deep-fried Moon Pies.
